Bromsgrove Panto is produced by Halftail Productions LLP in partnership with Artrix Theatre, bringing professional, high-quality pantomime to the heart of Bromsgrove every Christmas.

At its heart, Bromsgrove Panto is about creating the kind of Christmas tradition that families can return to year after year. We believe a great pantomime should have something for everyone: huge laughs, memorable characters, fantastic music, colourful costumes, spectacular scenery, plenty of audience participation and, of course, all the wonderfully ridiculous traditions that make British pantomime so special.
Our productions combine professional performers and creatives with local talent, giving audiences a show that feels ambitious and exciting while remaining firmly rooted in the community it serves. From the moment the overture begins to the final bows, our aim is simple: to give every audience a brilliant day or night at the theatre.
 
Professional Pantomime with a Local Heart:
Halftail Productions LLP brings together a team with experience across theatre, live entertainment and pantomime production. Each production is developed specifically for Bromsgrove and the Artrix stage, rather than simply treating the town as another stop on a touring schedule.
That local connection is incredibly important to us.

We want Bromsgrove Panto to belong to Bromsgrove. Alongside our professional cast and production team, we create opportunities for young performers and local people to become part of the production, helping to inspire the next generation of performers, technicians and theatre-makers.
For some children, pantomime may be their very first experience of live theatre. For others, appearing in the show may be their first opportunity to perform as part of a professional production. We take that responsibility seriously and want those experiences to be exciting, welcoming and unforgettable.

The Magic of Christmas at Artrix
Our home is Artrix Theatre, Bromsgrove's community arts venue.
Every Christmas, the theatre is transformed into a world of heroes, villains, fairies, dames and larger-than-life characters. Weeks of preparation go into creating the scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, music, choreography and special effects that audiences eventually see on stage.

But pantomime is about much more than what happens behind the curtain.
It is families arriving together in Christmas jumpers. It is children shouting warnings at the hero. It is hundreds of people singing along. It is the audience groaning at terrible jokes, cheering the good characters and booing the villain before they've even finished their entrance.
It is organised chaos - and we wouldn't have it any other way.
 
Pantomime for Everyone
We believe pantomime should be genuinely entertaining for the whole family.
Our shows are written and produced with different generations sitting together in mind. Children can enjoy the colourful characters, songs, slapstick and adventure, while grown-ups can enjoy plenty of comedy written especially for them.
There are jokes for the children, jokes for the adults and occasionally jokes that the children will understand in about ten years' time.

Most importantly, our productions never take themselves too seriously.
Pantomime has survived for generations because it creates a relationship between the performers and the audience that you simply don't get anywhere else in theatre. The audience isn't expected to sit quietly and watch — they are part of the show.
If something goes wrong, we'll probably make a joke about it.
If the audience isn't shouting loudly enough, we'll make them do it again.
And if somebody in the front row looks particularly nervous, they should probably avoid making eye contact with the Dame.
 
Creating Something Bigger Every Year
Bromsgrove Panto continues to grow, and our ambition is to make each Christmas production bigger, funnier and more spectacular than the last.
Following the success of Treasure Island, our next adventure is Rapunzel: The Tangled Pantomime, bringing another brand-new pantomime production to Artrix for Christmas 2026.
Behind every production is an enormous team effort involving performers, directors, choreographers, musicians, technicians, designers, stage management, wardrobe, front-of-house teams, volunteers, chaperones and countless others working behind the scenes.
Months of planning ultimately lead to just a few magical weeks when thousands of people come through the doors and experience the finished production.
For us, that is what makes it worthwhile.
 
Supporting Theatre in Bromsgrove
Bromsgrove Panto is also part of something much bigger.
Producing a major Christmas show locally helps support a thriving theatre and arts scene in Bromsgrove. It brings audiences into the town, introduces new people to Artrix and encourages families to make live performance part of their lives.
We want children who first walk into Artrix to see a pantomime to come back for another show, join a class, take part in youth theatre, perform on the stage themselves or perhaps one day work professionally in the creative industries.
Theatre can create lifelong memories, and pantomime is often where that journey begins.
